What is the FedEx Real-Time Rate Application?
The FedEx rate application allows a merchant to
return real-time rates from FedEx to their Yahoo
store cart. The application can return live list
rates or live discounted rates. List rates are
exact rates that appear on the FedEx.com
website. Discounted rates, are rates that have
been discounted by FedEx for the specific
merchant's account. When the application is tied
into Yahoo, our application will return the
real-time quotes directly back to Yahoo based on
the shipping information entered by the customer
and the shipping method that they have chosen.
The shipping rate is returned and added to the
price in the cart.
FedEX Real-Time Rates Application includes live,
real-time streaming rate quotes from FedEx with

Ability to return Ground and Express rates

Ability to return rates for US Domestic or
International.

Ability to return discounted rates that are
applied to merchant’s account

Ability to return undiscounted list rates
(example rates at www.FedEx.com)

FedEX Real-Time Rates Application Setup process:
Setup process is easy and requires a minimal
amount of merchant information before we can tie
the application into the store. We need:

A list of shipping all methods/FedEx
services to be used.

A list of packaging based on weight. For
self packing, dimensions of package needed.

FedEx Account Number (Merchant will need to
have FedEX account.)

Verify that items in their store have
recorded weight.

Real-time link in store manager. (If not
available, merchant must contact Yahoo to
have it turned on.)
