E-mail Marketing
Keep in touch with those customers!

In a perfect world, every online order would yield a reorder. Sure, you've taken measures to encourage sales and improve your conversions, but are you reminding your customers of the great deal they received? Are you offering any incentive to come back? A solid e-mail marketing campaign can not only keep customers informed of your dynamic inventory, but build an online relationship and bring them back for many orders to come!

No customer is valued more than a repeat customer. You could certainly leave it up to them to come back at their convenience, but that’s probably not in your best interest.

E-mail marketing is also a way to take advantage of paid traffic that doesn’t bring a sale. When storeowners spend online advertising dollars to drive 2-3% conversion rates, what happens to the other 97%? You’ve paid to get them there. A visitor that doesn't place an order is still valuable if they are given the option to join your mailing list. That same shopper may return later and complete a purchase.

Most storeowners are familiar with the concept of e-mail marketing, and many storeowners have taken the first few steps to building a presence in the inboxes of their customers. However, it takes more than sending a few short letters and links to maximize your e-mail marketing efforts.

Our experience has shown that most storeowners are too busy to do email marketing consistently or effectively on a regular basis. They are simply too busy “running the store”! At Ydesigns.com, we are available to assist with far more than simply beautiful store builds. Our experience in ecommerce can be crucial in helping to jump-start your e-mail campaign or pushing your existing campaign a step further. Whether you need your lists managed, a customized look to match your branded page, or your responses tracked to gauge your efforts, Ydesigns.com can help.

We offer a full-service menu of marketing tools that can help with your efforts, no matter where you are. Some suggestions you might consider in e-mail marketing would be to

  • Offer an incentive to join your mailing list, whether it is a discount on their next order, or simply the ability to be notified about the products they love.
  • Offer this incentive on your front page, near your search box.
  • Set a schedule for your campaigning, taking into account holidays, days of the week, your target audience's work schedule, and seasonal trends.
  • Use a response tracking system to determine shopping behavior: what they like, what they click on, and, of course, what they buy.
  • Be sure your e-mails are attractive, streamlined, focused, and offer an immediate incentive. You have less than a second to prove yourself!

Yahoo! Store™ moving ALL store servers 3/7 - 3/15.
Be prepared!

Yahoo! is moving all store servers to a new data center, starting on March 7, through March 15. The moves are scheduled 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM PST. You should receive a notice in your store manager notifying you of the exact time of your store's changeover.

Although the move should be a swift one, there still may be some time where you are unable to access your store manager, and there may be an order delivery delay during the time of your upgrade.

There are a few specifics that should be noted. If you are using any of the following in your store, please click here to read about specifics that may affect your store's functionality during the move:

  • Database Inventory
  • Gift Certificates
  • Domains registered outside of Yahoo
  • Real-Time features
